Finally getting just right out. None of this too cold or too hot business we always get around here when Spring first hits.

Just right, and you have to love that.

Good time for getting some outdoor portraits, which will make me happy. Some of the experiments I've been carrying out are coming through with very positive results. I'm still relatively new at photography, and I still get to discover new things and meet new people to photograph. It's quite a good feeling, I'll tell you that much.

And I love spontaneous portraits. I'll try more posed ones, naturally, but so far all of my favourites are just taken at a moment's notice, and they hinge entirely on the person, on the moment.

Maybe it's that it feels a bit more real, maybe that it just turns out so well - but I wouldn't trade those lucky moments for a hundred good posed shots. Part of me realizes I'm catching something unique on film, too, something that likely won't be repeated. And that's a good feeling.

Now if only those massive papers I need to write wouldn't get in the way so much! I'll probably not be posting much or getting much done photographically until they're done, but the summer will bring me some interesting changes in location so I can probably find some new things I haven't done before
